In contrast to most of the used book stores in Raleigh, Falls River Books is elegantly appointed with wood grain floors, beautiful fixtures and comfortable seating. Proprietor, Steven Elliot, has been in the book business for over a decade, and those of you from Miami may be familiar with his landmark stores, the Kendall Bookshelf and the West Kendall Bookshelf. Steven and all of his employees are extremely knowledgeable, and can provide service and information that you just cannot get in a chain bookstore.

In addition to leather bound books, signed first editions, antiquarian, and rare and out-of-print books, Falls River Books has thousands of novels - science fiction , literature, romance, mystery, adventure, horror - as well as substantial non-fiction sections, including cookbooks, history, art, travel, business, Christian, Judaica, etc. The store also has an excellent children's section with toys to keep the little ones busy while their parents are browsing illustrated books and chapter books. Most books are at least 50% off, and even more when you trade your books.
